L’ERIN BARNES WIGGINS

L’Erin began her career as a public defender in the State Court of Clayton County, leaving only to pursue an opportunity to gain civil litigation experience with the law firm of Fincher Denmark & Williams LLC as an associate attorney focused on local government law. She provided representation to governmental entities such as Clayton County Public Schools, Clayton County Water Authority and the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. Thereafter, L’Erin joined Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP as a Partner in the Atlanta’s Public Agency and Public Finance practice area where she helped expand the firm’s governmental practice in the Southeast region. Over the course of her nearly 20 years of practice, L’Erin’s continued passion for local government has allowed her to serve metro area local governments in various capacities, including city attorney, board/authority attorney, solicitor and judge. She has trained a host of code enforcement officials and has maintained certifications from the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Committee since 2013.

At LFBarnes Law, L’Erin has refined her skills as both a litigator and local government attorney. She is lead counsel in litigation cases and has advised clients in transactional matters involving ad valorem taxation, zoning, contracts and procurement, real estate, constitutional challenges, labor and employment, bond validations, permits and licensing, utilities, annexations, and various other matters facing governmental entities.

L’Erin is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc.-Buckhead Atlanta Chapter, and in her spare time has coached high school mock trial and volunteered with the Gate City Justice Benham Law Camp.
